About 'My Tennis Life'

In February of 2017, Tennis Channel launched its first multi-platform content series My Tennis Life featuring two professional tennis players, Nicole Gibbs (USA) and Sam Groth (Australia), as they traverse the globe in search of valuable ATP and WTA points. The series gives you a behind-the-scenes look of the professional tour. Tennis fans across the globe will witness Sam and Nicole’s efforts to break through respectively on the ATP and WTA Tours, and the challenges they face while trying to improve their game and career earnings.

From a terrific or terrible practice, from an unthinkable victory or defeat, to personal joys and/or hardships in their private lives, Tennis Channel will follow each player as he/she navigates through the highs and lows of life on the tour. You will be front row and center with these stars as they chase their dreams throughout the entire tennis season.

Self-described as feisty, Nicole Gibbs is a professional American tennis player who grew up in Cleveland and calls Venice Beach home. She was introduced to tennis by her father, Paul, who had her hitting in the driveway over two trashcans with a board across the top when she was just 2 or 3 years old. Nicole pursued tennis at the junior level through high school and went on to play for Stanford University. She studied Economics at Stanford from 2010-2013 where she secured multiple NCAA titles. At Wimbledon 2013, she officially began her journey as a professional player. Aside from tennis, she enjoys surfing, yoga, running, and giving back to the community.

Nicknamed “Grothy,” Sam Groth is a professional Australian tennis player who started playing tennis at the age of ten. He grew up idolizing Australian tennis stars Pat Rafter and Mark Philippoussis. In 2011, he switched sports to play Aussie Rules football for the Vermont Eagles in Melbourne, but switched back to tennis in 2012. In 2015, Sam received a Newcombe Medal, an award given annually to Australia’s most outstanding player. In August 2015, he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of No.53. When not playing tennis, He enjoys watching most sports, movies, and listening to music.
