On Monday September 4th, Marc Krajekian's dream came true when he met his lifelong idol Roger Federer at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Federer was there practicing before his fourth round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber.
The day before, Tennis Channel debuted our inspiring feature on Marc, a ten-year-old boy from North Carolina who had his leg amputated at the age of eight after being diagnosed with cancer. This young man's willingness to fight has won the hearts of the tennis community, including his hero Roger Federer, who sent Krajekian a heartfelt note.
"Get well soon Marc and tell me when you're ready and I'l play tennis with you," read Federer's note.
This afternoon Marc was ready, and Roger kept his promise.
